For RV's October means going to the Land of Enchantment Fly Inn at Santa Teresa, New Mexico. Here are some highlights from our LOE 2007 trip. This mostly focuses on the event itself with some formation fly bys as well as pictures from the War Eagles Museum. I don't recall the exact number of RV's that flew in for the event but it was over 100. Taken late October, 2007 (3min 35sec)
In this movie we are landing at Auburn for lunch on a Santa Clara County Airmans Association Fly Inn. The Comanche in the video is owned and flown by Sherri's parents Jim and Brenda Leale. I thought the traffic jam on the taxi way was more interesting than the flying so it is added in as well. Taken March, 2008 (13min 42sec)
This is an example of the power management system on my airplane, or what I call my "Engine Analyzer." Taken April, 2007 (3min 38sec)
A 3 ship flying between Grand Turk and Provinciales and back. Lead ship N628PV piloted by Paul Rosales, #2 ship N194GL piloted by Gene Larsen, and #3 ship N994W piloted by Bryan Wood. This video runs approx. 32 minutes so get a cup and coffee and relax. This is basically raw video but pretty scenary.
Here is a planned lunch/fuel stop at Millington, Tennessee. This is now a public use airport, but it used to be on the Naval Air Technical Training Command where I was stationed in 1981. The last time I saw this faclity I wasn't treated so good, but this time we got a Cadillac courtesy car and and they called me Sir.
In this video I tagged along and took inflight photos of Ken Wilson's new Bonanza. This was a short hop to Gustine, which usually has the cheapest gas in our area. This is one very nice "M" model Bonanza with leather interior, new modern center stack panel with the best of everything. Ken scored big with this purchase.
I used to get a kick out of taking off behind high performance planes in my RV to just "See" how the little 0-320 powered plane stacks up. I've played this game behind a Lopresti GTO Comanche 260 Turbo, a Mooney Turbo Lycoming Sabre, a Cessna 210, and here with my friends Turbo Lance. The movie is shaky because my son was holding the camera in his hand and it bounced around a bit. The result is the same every time, and here is how it looks from the RV. . Van designed a great plane.
Most likely if you are viewing this site you are an aviation enthusiast and probably and RV enthusiast. With this in mind this poor quality, noisy, jumpy scene is being included to show how an RV-9A can operate from the area on the runway prior to the VASI like the factory claims. Departing 13L at RHV in San Jose.
